I’ll start it off…

nice idea, I might play if I get more time.
In honor of J.G. Ballard’s death…

My favorite Charlie Kaufman written film
To post images, you need to take away the [IMG]’s at the beginning and end of the link and replace them with exclamation points. I like the cover, though. That particular image from the film, surrounded by a black void, works quite well.
In keeping with Kaufman, here’s a some-what visually confusing cover I did for Synecdoche, New York…

Those not familiar with theatre may not know what the hell a Playbill is, however.
Thanks for the info, now fixed. Kaufman is wonderful, nice cover.
this seems like a pretty sweet idea. i may throw something together later when i got some more free time
This is one of the best topics ever on the Auteurs! I am excited to see more.
Wow! You guys are slick! Nice work! Love JP’s Crash, Harley’s ESOTSM and Brandon’s 2046. Brandon – you should repost that Slumdog Millionaire one on here, too. That one’s the bomb!
fun thread, keep it up.
YES! Bring the ruckus!
awesome guys…
Actually, I would be fine if any of these were Criterions – these films are all good enough to rate The Criterion treatment. Where are those Benjamin Button wantabees? Let’s get some bad films in here, too. I love those Benjamin Button/Slumdog/Dark Knight hate threads. This resembles a ‘films that should get a Criterion release’ thread – wish fulfillment.

Fantastic work !!! I love em’

Brandon, that is awesome.
wow…you guys are good. wish i had more talent/photoshop experience.
that 2046 cover is sexy…makes me want to re-watch it right now!
someone do Stalker!!!!
Can someone please do one on Lert the Right One In, Vanishing Point or Alien?
I feel like an idiot. I’ve always spelled it Joel and Ethan Coen.
Here ya’ go, Marq

>>I feel like an idiot. I’ve always spelled it Joel and Ethan Coen.<<
Idiot or not, you’re spelling it correctly.
Yikes. How embarrassing. For accuracy’s sake, here is the edited version.
oops Brandon you beat me to it… it still looks patchy…considering that am a novice at editing….

Well, at least we agree on that still making a decent cover. Personally, I’m not too happy with my version… it’s just a bit too simple for such a film. If I was more skilled in Photoshop I would have gone all out, and attempted to create the most epic cover art that Stalker could ever hope to have, but my limitations forced me to keep in simple.
Hopefully, someday the real Criterion designers will give us something to truly drool over.
right… take a look at this one…

Rather like the Coppola
HOw can we paste then in here?
i really like the Stalker concept AND this Lost in Translation entry. very nice
Brandon Bedaw
Every other forum has a similar thread, so we should have one too (especially since we’re actually connected to the real company… somehow).
So, if you’re like me and you play around in Photoshop to make your future Criterion-release dreams a slight reality, or if you just like making prestigious covers for horrible movies, post them here.
