(Above) My first attempt. I figured Essential Art house was the easiest to start with, and the above is a title I’d like to see in Vol. 5.

Blake GOBLE

I actually don’t remember. I did these as a satire / art project a couple of months ago. Mighta been a variation on Arial Narrow?

I have quite a few more though.

I tried to make one of these as speculative cover for “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” but I failed. Someone PLEASE take the baton.

my first three efforts; I’m going to do more with The Servant eventually.

Paulo,

I used Helvetica Neue and then used the Free Transform tool in Photoshop to stretch it to the closest approximation. I’m not sure exactly what font the actual boxes are using.

PS The Wall cover is a class act.

Frank Capra’s Arsenic and Old Lace deserves a nice transfer.
The art was taken from the Broadway show poster, and moved around to fit a DVD box.

To continue with the small side discussion of fonts – I would like to know what font is used on the sidebar with the production year and “The Criterion Collection” ? I’m using ordinary Arial with Bold now but it doesnt seem to be quite right…

Andres Canella

Again I used Helvetica. It doesn’t seem exactly right.

Oh yeah, and apparently Arsenic and Old Lace came out right before the turn of the first century. Who knew?

The Criterion Collection’s primary typeface is Gotham. The Criterion Collection‘s logotype is the written expression of The Criterion Collection. The typeface used is Gotham Medium All Caps.
