If you have a photobucket account you can just copy the direct link from the images you upload into your account there and paste them in here by placing exclamation points (!) on both sides of your link.

I think that’s it for me today, I’ve posted too much in this thread already.

I wish the Russ Meyer cover was real. Thankfully I own the entire Meyer collection so I can enjoy Pussycat regularly…but he definitely needs to be included in the CC

OK, we need some “official” input here. Who wants to see what Kamer, our creative director, did for Chungking Express?

norbit as an art film, huh…

who knows what people will say of Eddie Murphy 20 years after his death? they didn’t like Rules of the Game in 1939…

who knows what the future of Criterion will hold!!!!!!

I’m really impressed by some of the cover designs. Is there are a chance that these movies and even cover designs will make it to the Criterion release?

I guess there’s a Diner version of CE floating around that I was not privy to.

JP Belmondo – 2046, Lost in Translation and Mulholland Drive are sure shot winners…

Amazing, Belmondo.

rough idea for a cover. montage of a heroin addict dying outside on a street, a photo of Burroughs wearing night vision goggles, a smashed typewriter, a 1950s heroin prescription bottle and bits of chitin scanned from a crushed cockroach that was lurking near my back door this afternoon. it was originally going to be a naked lunch take, but then I realized it shares nothing in common with the art design of Cronenberg’s film. so forgive the meme displacement.

you can watch the films here, if you don’t know them

T

thanks Marq. Tho’ I doubt Criterion want the dead insect goo school of graphic design.
and Samantha: you’re about 90 years ahead of your time. Ain’t no hologram like that in existenz. Yet.

T, I was snooping around that website, UBU.com and man, have to admit it is a treasure in there, thanks … never knew Yoko/Lennon made shorts….

I couldn’t decide between the two and I tried matching the font as best I could in the first one. The second is a still taken from the actual title sequence of the film. Century Gothic ftw?

Filmy Andy re: ubuweb.com —Happy to drop the science. I’ve told people before and they dip in but the whole crushed-like-sardines design can make your head swim after a time. They’ve got some amazing, rare work onsite though, so well worth the dive.

Samantha re: holograms— yeah, I hear ya : )

OK last one of these tonight. It’s late and I should be un homme qui dort.

I was originally going to make a SALO REDUX cover but it began to creep me out too much. So it became a Psycho remastered-in-color à la Eli Roth concept, with a much mutilated Janet Leigh.

A misconceived torture porn mash-up by a man with bleary eyes. It all went down the plug-hole at about 2.00 am.

Did someone say torture porn?!?!

- shifty eyes -

T

It’s a recognized genre these days. Sadly.

- shuffles off to drink a cup of very un-torture porn cocoa, yawning -
