I would love a Criterion Perceval…
Just Saw Limits of Control at a free press screening, inspired me to go back a few years to my favorite Jarmusch film.
Someone should do a cover of Jarmusch’s The Limits of Control.
Aw damn I forgot to change the date!

My first attempt. The logos and sidebar give me problems…but more to come!
I really love this film. I learned about in a BBC documentary about “Snuff” films.
This film’s date is supposed to be 1979 (my birth year). If you look closely it says 1980.
I was pretty much too lazy to change it and figured 1980 was close enough.

This is part of a box set I am working on. It consists of 2 Suzuki Yakuza flicks (neither on Criterion). I hope to finish it soon. The second film is a bit of a challenge since I cannot find an image which really captures the essence of it (to my satisfaction).

I like the idea for that Conversation cover.
The drawing is by Al Hirschfeld

Jesus…
Alex K wins.
I like pretty much every cover on this specific page, but Capote for some god unknown reason caught my eye the most. Good job with simple simplicity. I also love the Chaplin one. It’ll be a day to celebrate when criterion releases something of his.
Thanks AOAIJEA
Upon second look I really needed to clean up that Chaplin drawing (specifically the hat, jacket and shoes). Sorry for the repost, but I can’t edit the earlier one.

My little contribution:

Sorry, I know I should clean it up more.
Oh damn. Yes, Alex K wins w/ Alien.
I concur
Why isn’t La Notte in the collection already????
Really like the Perceval one Samantha!
Tysvm!

Can’t get over how much I love that “Good Burger” one. How sad am I…. Though, seriously, if you all chose to spend your time making these, all I can say is, “Thank you.” My day is constantly being made by this thread.

@ Philip
Love your memento cover but it looks like it could be a gay porn

Thanks Samantha, Sean, and Jaspar . . . what exactly did I win? Was it for the category: “Least Likely to Actually Become a Criterion Cover?” I’m impressed with everyone’s ability to keep coming up with astounding new ideas! More, more!
Indeed! Thanks, Mr. Mayor.

Superbad is great
