Ok, I’ve tried, but I’m having some trouble finding some high-res images online from Fitzcarraldo. (at least of what I want) Anyone know of a way I can drag frames from the movie itself?

Well, you could take a screen capture if you’re playing the movie on your pc.

I remember what a lovely smack in the face this flick was the first time I saw it.

ahh screen capture. and I was thinking of some convoluted, backwards way.

thanks.

I hadn’t thought of it either until you asked the question! Screw the internet when there’s a very particular frame you have in mind.

Thanks. Love that flick, and that’s the image that I most envision when I think about it.

Same here. Someone once said that Kubrick uses the camera like a weapon. You can really feel that during some of his shots. For me, this shot was his first that really encapsulates that.

Along with Spirits of the Dead, this is my favorite of those wacky ’60s anthologies….

The La Chinoise cover is really nice, Cahiers. The multi-frame collage design is perfect for Maoist Godard.

Daniel – great texture to that On the Waterfront.

On the Waterfront nails it!

This was a few pages ago, but I love the Glengarry Glen Ross.

The Die Hard is also great.

It was good, Jaspar. Hey, at least you picked the woefully underseen Paths to Glory. But there aren’t many varying images from that film on the web. I had to take a screen capture from the DVD on my laptop in order to get that one. Surprising, since it’s one of his most famous shots.
