Thanks for the comments! Here’s a new one:

LOVELY!!!!!
My newest attempt at Godard’s cinematic essay series Histoire(s) du Cinema:

It could use some work, but I’m much too lazy to try and fix it.
Ah, if only Criterion would release Historie(s) du cinema, it needs some North American distribution.
JPB – super fantatsic
Someone please do one for Houston’s “Moby Dick”!!!!!

@greydaisies – Beautiful cover!

Love the Cul-de-Sac poster.
Hey, hopefully we’ll finally have the dvd released soon. It’s not everyday you’d see Ernst Blofeld in a drag. Cheers!
the Persona cover is superb—it reminds me of what they’re doing with their Seventh Seal reissue. i think all its missing is Bergman’s name on it. add that, and you should offer to sell them the design!
Thanks, i really don’t like the “a film by…” or “Ingmar Bergman’s” but i think i could add it. Now i did the cover for Stalker:
It’s fun to do this !
This one is pretty simple but I felt that image of Dean really captures the raw emotions of the film.

Noel, you beat me to cul-de-sac, I had a hand drawan sketch of the same from long back, been lazy to scan and put up…good one though
Nil, I also like your Stalker version…
i think Criterion’s emphasis on the film maker is for a good reason, though. they don’t focus on stars, but rather on the artist who is creating the work for us, so its never bothered me that they use the “a film by” or so-and-so’s film.
in any case, your Stalker cover is also superb, with or without Tarkovsky’s name on it. damn dude…what else you got up your sleeve?
how about A Clockwork Orange? what can you come up with for that?
…damn, i gotta try to fuck around with photoshop—you guys are inspiring me!
I have photoshop. I have a zillion CC stills. I have no idea how to do this though.
Oh don’t get me wrong, i like that the artist has proper credit and all, it’s just a personal style to not include the credit… well anyway i can add it :P
I was just thinking about doing a Clockwork Orange! You read my mind or something

Wow, lots of great new covers in the last 24 hours! I think it will be tough for anyone to top the existing art out there for A Clockwork Orange, but I might give it a try anyway . . . This is becoming a HUGE distraction for me.
Can’t someone do Die dritte Generation? Or any other Fassbinder?
These are all really great, Ive never used photoshop at all- anyone wanna do some Dario Argento ones?

Heavily inspired by the book cover, i’m going to do another version
Thanks to all our graphic arts geniuses on site for so many distinct and interesting covers. Just makes me want to see any of these films, esp. the ones I haven’t yet. The creativity here is awesome! All of you should be making big bucks in the visual design world. If you aren’t, it’s a crying shame.
…its a crying shame?
SOMEONE DO THE CRYING GAME!!!
Bob, you’re a genius!
Darren, thanks for Cache! I love it.
Brandon, the Van Sant trilogy is beautiful, I especially like Gerry and Last Days.
Grey Daisies, upping the ante with a 3-D effect. Very nice.
These are great. Does anyone mind if I post a couple on Facebook. Specifically, “Norbit” and “Bad Boys” because they’re soooo funny?
Somewhat reminiscent of Nil’s work on Clockwork Orange…

A cover that makes absolutely no sense unless you’ve seen the film.
Drew.
Wow I am blown away by all of these…..well heres my latest effort this time for Orson Welles’s The Trial.
