Oh, I want in too! Here’s my blog:
newwavefilm.wordpress.com
I got the perfect Christmas themed film:
Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2
Alright, after conferring we’re officially not accepting any new members for the foreseeable future.
I think im sort of mixed up on who is who. Is there two Jakes? Cause I have a Jake down for October:
http://www.yggnoise.com/cineastes/1009-magic
no thats my email, I picked magic
There’s a Jake and a Jack. Doc Oz is Jack, and he grabbed October. Jake has been mysteriously absent from the email proceedings.
Oh, and for those who wanted it, the summary:
“The Cineastes are a not-quite-so elite INTERNATIONAL coalition of the cinematically inclined whom convene once a month. Together they hope to assist in the spread of film enthusiasm like a disease, debilitating the already INFECTED and attacking the healthy with relentless vigor. Possessing of what Ernest Hemingway referred to as ‘aficion’, The Cineastes are concerned with the general analysis of features both new & old, studio-made & independent, local & foreign, as well as comprehensive film criticism instigating AND ENCOURAGING discussion on the roots of cinema history.”
In mine I’m going to use italics in place of capitals, but do as you will.
Woo hoo! I just made it! Did you get my email address?
nice description, you took what was genius about the first to and made it even better, me like
thanks to Adam’s assistance with the description.
Can you guys check my list to see if anyone got left off? I was only aware of 12 members but supposedly there is 13, and possibly 14.
http://www.yggnoise.com/cineastes/about-the-cineastes
I thought there was 12, if not, who are 13 an 14, this is a bit complicated
re- the description.
i only used capitals to point out to joshua the additions i had made, so disregard the use of capitals for the actual one.

Which months are still up for grabs?
the last two just joined, Amber & Tom Day.
Adam, everything til Dec 09 is taken. Everything else after that is free.
I’ll take January.
Also, just thought I’d mention that www.thecineastes.com is an available domain.
sorry, but on the yggnoise site my site is listed as Eatmycheeseplese.co.uk. My site is seriousaboutcinema.blogspot.com, eat my cheese is just a site i wrote for a few years back! what months are up for grabs for a choice? the description is great by the way!
I am think Gus Van Sant’s Elephant as my choice, the kind of film that will divide people and spark some heated debate i am sure, unless of course you all love it?
i hate elephant, so heated debate is on the cards! saying that, post-milk i would consider myself a fan of van sant’s, which is something that couldnt be said of my attitude towards him when i originally saw elephant back in the cinema, so it should be an interesting re-evaluation.
i opened a facebook group, to compose discussion in an easier manner. its closed to the public, so you need to request membership.
I generally hate Van Sant. That said, I haven’t seen Elephant, so maybe this will be the one that will change my mind. I’ll join the facebook group when I have a chance, ie when I’m not at work.
sorry Tom, updated it now.
also updated the page with blanks that have a note of who will be hosting. So as of now, everything til Jan 10 is taken.
Thank you so much for this opportunity. I have reviewed a few Criterion films at Suite101.Com; including The Lovers and Fishing With John.

I think Wildfire’s taking February.
so I’m pretty sure we’re using the facebook just to communicate more easily?
Doc Oz, Im wondering abotu this myself.
With email, this, and now facebook, things are getting a bit messy. I say we just go with one.

Haven’t posted in a while, so I’ll just let everyone know I’m still in. Ugetsu sounds great, though I haven’t even updated my blog in about a month and a half. Oh well. If no one minds, I’ll take January because I’ve got a great pick that’s non-Christmas related. Or is that looking ahead too far?
