I was thinking, though. If we do it, we should make it at least twenty-five films. If we only did ten mine would basically all be Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese films. Which is a shame because I love Italian, French, English (British, American) and Russian film, among others, but just love Asian films a very tiny bit more. Something to think about, I’ll do ten if necessary, though.
I’m trying to make my list somewhat encompassing; I’m including French, American, German, Japanese, Scandinavian, Italian, Taiwanese, Indian, and Russian films. But I’m also trying not to concentrate my selection to one time period, while giving the silent era multiple spots because of its significance.
I’d like to participate in this
I’m definitely in. I feel 10 is a good number because at least for me my top 10 are films I ridiculously love. Films I just could not live without (sounds dramatic but whatever). My top 50 has films I just love lol.
Just a personal consideration, but perhaps 15 spots would be more beneficial than 10. This is difficult! I want to put in a Bergman, but then I have to get rid of Laughton, ahhh! Oh well, better minds will prevail.
I’m down. I would love to know the results.
I.

I’m in.
I’m in for sure.
Yep.
I hope we don’t rush the deadline on this. I’d like time to watch and re-watch some films, and to “live with” my list for a little while, because I always seem to end up changing my mind.
count me in :) !!!!!
I want in on the action! =D
Where and when do we submit our list?
I’d be interested for sure, though I warn you from experience that these lists tend to get a little…pedestrian…depending on how they are done/who gets involved with them.
Adam Cook
I’m with you Tobias.
Ideally I’d like to involve as wide a scope as possible. If you think there is way to expand this, I would be interested. For now I’ll continue to keep track of registration for the list as planned, until we can figure out something better.
Tallying the voting is simple. Using the Sight & Sound format, every registered voter submits an alphabetical top ten. The films with the most inclusions make the final top ten. The top ten directors list is composed from which directors had the most films voted for.
