Gimme Shelter
I’ve only seen the abridged Monterey Pop but I give it the edge on Woodstock simply for Otis. The way he won over the crowd there made it one of the greatest musical sets ever caught on film.
It always seemed to me that Woodstock is too ensconced by nostalgia to be enjoyed as a movie. The “cultural signifigance” of the concert overshadows the performances, so that’s why I prefer Montery Pop.
I like the significance — Woodstock
