I like the idea and I’m particularly glad to see your plan to have separate threads for each film being discussed since they otherwise may not be notices or commented on by people who aren’t looking at the director’s cup threads.
The films you’ve selected so far are great! Each of those directors and films could use more attention.
I’ll try to participate in the discussions when I can. Thanks for doing this, Natasha.

sorry sek.
Sekzee, please do not post RapidShare links on the forums. Streaming links are fine.

Thanks for uploading Ashes.
Alright, I don’t feel too bad about not making it into the cup now because being a participant in watching, discussing, and voting seems pretty exciting. What a great idea!
This will be an exciting discussion week!!
Yes it will be! I’m excited!
Introducers remember to start a new thread for your movie discussion with this thread title format:
Director’s Cup- Film Analysis: (Movie Title) by (Director’s Name)
And post the link to this thread so people can easily find it. Thank you
Can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts! :)
Nevermind.
Forgot to post in this thread, but Ashes is now fully uploaded.
Ashes is excellent so far, i’m afraid i’ll have to manage it in bits. I was only vaguely aware of it.
hey where’s the discussion threads? it’s the 24th right? did i just watch two terrible films yesterday just for the sake of it? (just kidding, loved them both, need someone to help me choose between them) want someone else to say they like the black humour of a shotgun didgeridoo…

Hi All,
This thread will be dedicated to deciding on films to discuss that are competitors in the Director’s Cup (DC). It will be similar in format to the Simultaneous Watching and Analysis Thread, in which a schedule is agreed upon by contributing members and a new thread is created by the introducer of each movie.
The ideal setup will be to have a pair of films that are adversaries in the DC to be introduced on the same day by different people who can introduce the films with a brief summary and additional thoughts for discussion. (e.g. Abbas Kiarostami’s Where Is the Friend’s Home? and Šarūnas Bartas’ The Corridor discussed on same day on separate threads). The point of this is to be able to flesh out thoughts and opinions about a film in a group setting in order to get a wider and more educated perspective on as many films as possible.
If the adversary of a particular film is not chosen by anyone to open a new thread, we can discuss another film or only disucss one film on that given day.
The days the discussion will begin are Mondays and Wednesdays, this will give people the weekend to prepare their introductions.
Apursansar and I will be co-managing these discussions, so feel free to email either one of us with questions. I’m actually not managaing any films in the DC, so this will be my contribution :)
When introducing a thread please stick with this thread title format so that searches will easily bring up relevant threads.
