“Votes: The Tall T, All that Heaven Allows, After Hours, Mulholland Drive, Raging Bull, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Three Godless Years, Vertigo, and Yojimbo.”
Well there goes the best film in the whole list, far as I’m concerned. I’m out.
Interesting experience; maybe the one unpleasant element in all this (aside from the length) are the immature posters who spray insults about like so much spit. You have a lot of growing up to do.
Dimitris, keep fighting the good fight! Paalam, pare.

Noel, if you haven’t seen it, I’d suggest taking a look at When the Tenth Month Comes as that is a movie that 3 Godless Years reminds me of. I personally prefer Tenth Month, but there is a context difference between the two films of course which allows for variation.
Macho King, give it a rest.
Doinel,didn’t I dismiss you a day or 2 ago?
No Doinel u give it rest, with ur lameness
Smh how serious some people get with the voting, apparently it causes 2 much strife in there life if people don’t vote “there” way.how bout this,u just worry bout urself and go type something more meaningful with ur time, cause ill tell u this-its a more realistic goal 4 u then it is you telling me how and what I sould do with my votes and me obeying.how bout u wise up

Noel, wish you’d stay. You turned a few people onto your choice—-that is not inconsiderable.
Vertigo is a great film, but feels good that this time round it won’t be on a list.
+2 — Spring in a Small Town (Fei Mu)
Not very sporting to quit just because one’s star movie gets whipped. That’s why you need multiple back up films to support. And even after those get buried, you can still keep on voting for whatever remains. More than one movie exists. (Unless you’re part of a fanatical cult that worships one film or something.)
More than one movie exists.
Only Zodiac exists. All these other movies are imaginary.
Groundhog Day doesn’t exist. It’s a doozy.

…
Groundhog Day doesn’t… aww, SHIT.
I find it disheartening that the only Satyajit Ray films voted for are parts of his Apu Trilogy….don’t you people download? Apu Trilogy isn’t the whole of Indian cinema or Ray’s filmography!
Ray’s Abhijan or The Music Room or Charulata should be on the list before his Apu films.
I have voted for Charulata on at least a couple of occasions. I have also tried to support Days and Nights in the Forest as much as possible. But I think Dimitris has a point, especially since a number of Ray’s films are now available in good quality prints thanks to distributors such as Artificial-Eye, Mr Bongo and Eureka/Masters of Cinema. Hopefully you can locate a copy of these films at your local SMz shop…

^ Yeah, i saw minor support for Days and Nights but I think it’s quite low at the moment :( I thought Charulata would have been selected as a choice, I curse myself for not compiling a list of a random array of titles not originally included on the list!
Of course, any Ray is good for promotion but Apu Trilogy has become the Citizen Kane of India, for better or for worse.
