@ Kenji re. ‘The Pearl’ – I haven’t seen it. To be honest, I can’t even place it at the moment: whose film is it?
So you claim Hawks is the wrong Pasolini because it isn’t Gospel and Joe claims it’s the wrong Pasolini because it isn’t Salò. It has to be hell or it has to be heaven … Since when was life so simple? [mjeyds], which I can’t do on this damn board.
@ Kuxa – Canterbury Tales ????!!!!
Thanks DiB – I thought we’d gone to ‘Ludricous Speed’ then…
Worth considering if you really want to speed the game up? (joke)

GIVE A CHANCE TO THE BOTTOMERS! Please, vote down!
Glad to see a South Korean film rising in the top 100. We need more variety from all parts of the world, where are the African countries Only Diop has left from directors???
Great to see Spain too with Erice, with Beehive still being a heavily underrated film.
@ The Macho King The Illmatic One - I’m touched. Here’s the deal, name a film and I’ll vote it up next round. Your choice.

Damn if I’d realised an Imamura had been on the list and in danger I may have voted for it.
“I just don’t think films that have been seen by so few people should be so high on this list.”
That’s fucking bullshit.
While I wouldn’t have chosen Dimitris’ wording, it is indeed a very narrow-minded approach. Why not watch the film(s) and build your own opinion on it? The fact that a film is little seen doesn’t say anything about it’s quality.
Yes I agree. Go Wanda!

@Ali: who’s to say which is the best Pasolini film? We all have our own taste. It’s a change to have Hawks and Sparrows championed.
Here is a thread on hidden treasures starting with The Pearl, by the Belgian aristocrat Henri d’Ursel
I agree with Hulot—Our list should tend toward the more underseen, or why bother? Every other list out there tends toward the more seen. And yes, if you haven’t seen a film on the list, and it seems to be receiving notice, seek it out! There are many here I plan to dive into, in and out of the current top twenty.

M. Hulot said: “Why not watch the film(s) and build your own opinion on it?”
You could say that about any film that you haven’t seen, ever. What about all the films that were on the original 1000+ film list that you hadn’t seen that you let fall off the list? Why didn’t you go watch those movies before you let them fall off the list? I don’t have time to watch all the movies on the list that I haven’t seen. I have a long list of movies that I want to see and I’m not going to put those movies on hold just to watch some crummy download of some unknown movie that may or may not be good just so that I can vote against it in this poll. I don’t think movies that hardly anyone has seen should win a top 20 of all time list just because they’re so obscure that nobody votes them down because nobody’s even heard of them, let alone seen them.
