^ Now that Caravaggio is down, the only British films that may make it in the top 100 are Holy Grail and Blue (by Jarman again), it’s a pity Britain and Italy lacked variety this time. Maybe I will create a Favorite Italian films list or something, hehe.
Unfortunately, Blue is great but not one of my top top Jarman but it’s OK nevertheless as a major discovery by the…non-narrative cinephile fans ;)

For some reason, very sentimental today, as Totoro is safe ( I want to see it in final 20 – it endured innumerable viewings, in company of my son, and at the end did much better when the first time), my vote goes to Panahi’s sincere concern with the plight of women, his shrewd, but loving gaze and structural games.
