Wild Strawberries, Last Year at Marienbad, L’Atalante all gone in the last round. Shows that the bigger named films are doomed in this game. We don’t want ‘stars’, just ‘character actors’, it seems.
Some seem to keep voting for the big names still in, even if that means the film will be targeted later, when this starts getting down to the final crunch.
Love the discussion going on re Wilder. He was one of the most intelligent and progressive of filmmakers – and one of the funniest. A great character himself (as his interviews attest), his quirky viewpoint on life and love is there for all to see in in his amazing scripts.
