If Zodiac survives this round, its fans need to get together and mount a stronger offence – follow the zeal of the Three Godless Years voters. I’m being completely sincere about this even if I’m voting against it. Seeing the film shift up and down the list is turning into a dull game-within-a-game with ever decreasing results.
As for the Three Godless Years voters, I now have complete sympathy for you guys, but I’m deeply worried these tactics will explore in your faces. Your reasons are truly noble, but I fear the tension it has generated may implode, blemishing the films you’re supporting when they deserve preservation and to be seen.

Fuck Zodiac, enough of that film and I even like it quite a bit, but honestly…fuck Zodiac man!
Oh, and fuck Antichrist too. Seriously, I’m all for post-2000’s films in the top 20 but Antichrist, Zodiac and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Stain are your best choices????

Eternal Sunshine is a masterpiece to me, so yes it’s one of my best (aka favorite) choices. And I thought you said several times that you weren’t “all for” post-2000’s films in the top 20… Maybe I misread all of your posts.
^ Well, I don’t mind any post-2000’s inclusion, I just find it intriguing that more discoveries from past decades be included, haha :D
Yeah, look, I like Eternal Sunshine compared to the rest of Gondry but having seen quite a lot from the 2000’s, I’ll take all the Oldboys and There Will Be Bloods of the world as opposed to any Gondry and Fincher work :P
By the way, why was LOL hated so much? I don’t know anything about Swaberg (am I pronouncing it correctly?) but he has garnered much despise from several voters here, haha.
Dimitris – I prefer that the fans of the film either try harder or concentrate on another film. This back and forth is driving me mad.
By the way things are going it may disappear this round, so this may be over with. If it isn’t, I don’t really want to read more posts arguing about it. I know that may sound offensive, but I would rather have deeper arguments about it or none at all.
I respect your preferences – as I mentioned earlier, I’m not a Gondry fan, as Eternal Sunshine is the only movie he’s directed that I love. But it’s a hell of a movie and no amount of Green Hornets can change that. Overall, I definitely prefer someone like P.T. Anderson or Park Chan-Wook, but I comparing individual works, I like Eternal Sunshine more than any other single film from those other directors, Fincher included ;)
^ You’re right Coheed. I also focus in exploring films I haven’t watched like Altman’s Long Goodbye and 3 Women.

Unbelievable how many people believe Hitchcock’s best film isn’t deserving of a spot in the Top 20."
Unbelievable that you’re voting for films you haven’t seen yet but CAN watch them. Alright, you’re 14, I respect that but vote for films you HAVE seen, sheesh…

Dimitris – Currently I’ve got my eye on Harvest 3000 Years, which is in the 5-10 point range on this list. I have no idea what my weekend will be like, or if I’ll be able to view it, but I hope I’ll be able to watch the whole film then or at some point.
As for Eternal Sunshine…, I do think its a masterpiece. Sadly like a lot of films that get immense praise from the mainstream as well as the ‘art house’ (subject to what ‘arthouse’ means or whether you think its a somewhat questionable term like for myself) tend to suffer from being over hyped and continually repeated in articles and lists. Zodiac and David Fincher are the same issue even if both of us are not in his fan base. Repetition can be completely off-putting, something we’ve already discovered with the debates on this thread.
“By the way things are going it may disappear this round, so this may be over with. "
Oh don’t you worry Coheed, when Zodiac goes we’ll have another film to prickle you with. :)
Santino – Just add a little more debate, and I’ll be happy with whatever you all vote for after Zodiac. Hell, it might be a film I think is a masterpiece too depending on what is chosen, so both sides win. :)
Hmm…well I’m liking where 3 Women is sitting so I may throw my weight behind it (it’s my favorite Altman after The Long Goodbye).
If not Altman, maybe Heat, just to upset the mubi masses.
