The MUBI T-Shirt Design Project: Submissions
I refuse. I don’t like the idea of being a film snob. It’s too narrow, too clubby, too cultish. More interesting to like Antonioni and Bunuel AND be a philistine at the same time.

My new computer. So’s I can do stuff like this and the Fake Criterion Cover Art too. (I guess I could do some on this crappy computer but I don’t even want to bother with the stress of fighting with it).
In terms of graphic design I don’t really like that much text. I was thinking just getting some famous film still frames (stuff from The Seven Samurai, Seventh Seal, Third Man, etc) and turning them into tinted circles that I alligned in the Mubi graphic. Nothing more than that.
But I did like that “splash” design, above.

to take that tinted circles idea a step further, (and don’t anybody get bent out of shape, this is only an example), the front could have SHH! – SILENT CIMEMA in letters and the back ‘circles’ could have a different ‘silent still’ within each… there could be a shirt designed for each ‘style’ description… ‘still’ selections could be voted on so everybody has a chance to contribute… hell kids, collect ‘em all!… it’s just a damn shame it’s mubi, and not auteurs.
@POLARISDIB – I like the idea but not sure if mubi.com would be sued without permission to use certain images of still frames.
That’s one thing I want to get clarification from EFE, is this something that he is giving us permission to use the mubi branding/logo and if so, can we get access to the original vector artwork?

I’m submitting soon. These are good but I think the comedy of MUBI has been battered and bruised enough already…
You missed the !s at the beginning and end.
I love rachelleigh’s design. It would fit perfectly across the chest of the shirt, leaving enough space below for my bib (mubi dick and others might be obscured by my bib number).
though from an ad/marketing standpoint, the French could be misleading.
that’s really close to what I had in my mind’s eye for the front of the tee.
rachel, any ideas for the back?
I really like Rachel’s also. I think it would be best on a gray shirt, to match the colour scheme of the site.
