I’m pretty excited for Django Unchained, especially for the forthcoming controversy over its use of racial slurpies. Tarantino getting into televised arguments about it will be a treat to watch.
I’m also intrigued about Leonardo DiCaprio playing an evil human being with a pointy devil goatee to match. DiCaprio is a fine actor but I don’t believe he has played villainous before. I am confident that he is more than up to the job.
I’m still shocked that Franco Nero isn’t attached to the project.
^ Dude, that would complete the circle.
Wasn’t Tarantino originally after Franco Nero for the role now occupied by Christoph Waltz?
And Squiffle, we’ll agree to disagree on DiCaprio being a fine actor but he’s played a villain at least once before (The Man in the Iron Mask).
@The Dude : Indeed!
@Hellshocked : I remember reading that Franco Nero very much wanted to be part of the project. Despite the fact that I love Christoph Waltz, if what you wrote about him replacing Nero was to be true, I think I’d be pissed.
Love to, but I’m staying with my family for Christmas this year.
That’s how I’ll be spending my Christmas Day for sure. It looks like such a great film. My mom likes Tarantino, so I might see if she wants to go. I’m not much of one for holiday family gatherings. Or holidays. Or family. Or gatherings, really. I do go to the movies frequently with my mom, though.
I can’t think of any other film that just says “holiday fun for the whole family” like Django Unchained does.
Les Miserables/Django double header!!!
YES!

Happy holidays from Quentin Tarantino? I’m definitely in.
