I’m picking this up. I hated the cut I saw. Couldn’t understand 70% of what was being said, and the crappy look of it made my eyes nearly bleed.

I hope I may discover a masterpiece in this cleaner edition. Thanks for the heads up, Joks.
Oh no Studio Canal is at it again
^^must admit i’d be more excited if Eureka did it.
Thought there would be more interest about this!
Great news!
I still have the old laserdisc released by The Roan Group ‘Gold Edition’ back in the ‘90s. That wasn’t too bad, full aspect ratio but there were a few scenes where the gray contrast could’ve been better. I can imagine the blueray looks ten times better.
my first viewing of this (Netflix streaming, ugh) I was really really into it and my power cut out randomly half way through the film >.>
I raged, and vowed that upon a blu-ray I would engage in such a second viewing that the realm would quake and the skies would open forth and spew uh lots of rain.
The time is nigh.
Needless to say, a film that begs for optimum presentation by all means:

Amen, and so on.
I contend the disc be ovular-shaped.
There are some reviews for this floating around online. Anyone picked it up yet?
There are complaints about edge enhancement, and how there is still a lot of work to be done on the print, but the stills i’ve seen look ten times better than other transfers i’ve seen.
I’m looking forward to seeing this on blu-ray
Joks
yes, that’s right ladies and gents!!! The Trial! Welles! On Blu-ray!!! I don’t think i’ve ever seen a decent print of this one. and it’s a great looking film too. most of the versions i’ve come across online have been terrible and don’t really show off the visual compositions well.
