Just finished DUNE.
Just…fascinating. Really can’t wait for JODOROWSKY’S DUNE documentary to come out.
edit: …and I was surprised to find Herbert’s basis summarizing one of the strongest themes in Lynch’s work: immersing oneself in or conversely overcoming one’s fears, the challenges of emotion management when born with an inherently irrational human brain.

Hot: The Elephant Man. Not: Wild at Heart.
It was really all downhill after Eraserhead….with The Elephant Man bucking the trend towards mediocrity. Dune is just plain pathetic – taking a rather good book and making it into an expensive boring flop.

@ Mark Jobson: Agree with you on Dune. It may not be my #1, but it is a remarkable film.
