When I watched Scorsese’s Raging bull for the 1st time I gotta confess that I didn’t like it that much, to be honest I found it deeply overrated.
I just watched it again, and it was an amazing experience. I think it’s one of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen and Scorsese trully is a great director, I didn’t like him that much before either, but now I’m impressed.
I gotta rewatch some other of his movies (Taxi Driver and Goodfellas that didn’t impess me too), and I’m looking foward to it.
I’ve seen that many people didn’t enjoy it that much either, my advice is to rewatch! It’s an amazing experience, and one of the best ones of the 80’s (certainly not better than The Purple Rose of Cairo, White Dog and a few others), but still it worths rewatching.

Most of my favourites have been better second time round. Just this evening I saw Eureka again and knowing what was going to happen made the experience all the more emotional for me and made every action count that little bit more.

Strangely enough, I didn’t think much of Vertigo the first time I saw it. It’s now one of my favorite films. More recently (two days ago, in fact), it took a second viewing to really appreciate The Pear Tree.

I think there are a great many films that benefit from multiple viewings. Certainly Raging Bull is one of them.
