Oh, that’s right, 2000 wasn’t 21st century… damn. Well, that takes away the two films that I thought were the best. So, minus Yi Yi (Edward Yang) and Werckmeister Harmonies (Bela Tarr), and instead in their place add Still Life (Jia Zhangke, 2006) and The Turin Horse (Agnes Hranitzky / Bela Tarr, 2011).

Flávio! Is Odete your favorite JPR? It didn’t do much for me. Still, I liked it. But I loved O Fantasma and Morrer Como um Homem, like I loved Alvorada Vermelha. Macau is, maybe, my most wanted movie for 2012!

Miguel, hello! No, Odete is not my favorite JPR. O Fantasma is the one for me and, so far, it is his masterpiece. Nevertheless, A Última Vez que vi Macau is becoming to me, day after day, very closer to this list. And brings much more to cinema and its history than one might imagine. I hope to see it once again as soon as possible to make sure if it has a rightful place on this list :)
