Could anyone here help me track down a copy of Jacques Becker’s Les Amants de Montparnasse (a.k.a. Montparnasse 19)???
I just saw Casque D’or and it struck me as a “perfect” movie—Le Trou and Touchez Pas au Grisbi are favorites as well.
There’s a Russian-dubbed version of Les Amants de Montparnasse on Youtube at the moment and after skimming through it I think it’s safe to say this film is up my alley, but I’d like to see a version with English subtitles.
Apparently there was a VHS release years ago. I’m hoping someone out there in has a dub of it, and that s/he could make me a copy, in exchange for a little money. (I have tried torrents but to no avail.)
