That Von Trier guy needs a vacation or some antidepressants. Whatever happened to the happy go lucky guy who made Europa and The Element of Crime?

" I’ve read Trier before state that his characters are idealists, and that is why they suffer so" isn’t that why he’s naming Dunst Character after de Sade’s “Justine”?

Last Saturday I watched a ton of trailers (including Tree of Life, The Future, Myth of the American Sleepover, Beginners, Another Earth and Melancholia). Melancholia was the only one that left me saying “eh”

And I like Von Trier alot.

I haven’t much Von Trier. But this looks great visually, but the story could go many ways. I’m not sure about this…

@Patrick The set design, locale, cinematography is meant to look that way, to reflect the kind of glossiness/ kitch you see in films about weddings. It does seem like an unpredicatable work but I like the connection to German romanticism and am interested in seeing the piece set to Wagner

I can only tell i would act like Kirsten Dunst, definitely. Am i depressed?
A therapist told LVT that people with depression act calm in tension moments, because they expect the worst. This is basically the movie, i can’t find much more. But overall i think it’s pretty good, acting, music etc..
