Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Greatest film of our generation

I think we can all agree that the phenomenal, visionary director Michael Bay delivered unto us a masterpiece of epic proportions with his film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Previously, his former work of stunning art Pearl Harbour was the great work that all filmmakers after followed. However, he has set a new bar, created a new standard by which all filmmaking will now follow.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the defining film of our generation.

I love the sarcasm and all, but haven’t we had enough of “hate threads” about Michael Bay and his Transformers?

This is no hate thread, Edwin. This is truly a work of art that we will all cherish for generations to come.

The best review I read of the movie (and one of the best reviews I’ve ever read) is by Charlie Jane Anders editor of io9 and is entitled “Michael Bay Finally Made an Art Movie”.

It can be found here:

Indeed sir. I also love how in his epic Bad Boys II—where others used it to simply sell the film—Michael Bay used Will Smith’s rapping to symbolize to decline of Western-civilization. Utterly brilliant.

Nice humour, I think. Is this an Andy Kaufman kind of joke, or are you seriously deaf, dumb, and blind and have no sense of smell when it comes to movies? When they start mass-producing Terminators in the future, I think I’ll send one to Michael Bay’s mother before she can have him. Seriously, Bay is ruining cinema.

Do you guys not recognize a troll thread when you see it? Let it die. This is not a joke.

Ohhhohaha… I get it… It’s because the movie’s bad!

That’s so witty!

You want a serious review of it? Here’s mine:

Being a Transformers fan since my early childhood, I was pleasantly surprised by Bay’s first movie and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. However, there were moments (Bumblebee ‘leaking’ onto John Turturro, the Autobots attempting to hide around the house) which made me feel that Bay wasn’t quite taking the material as seriously as I’d have liked… come Revenge of the Fallen, with Transformer testicles, Transformers acting like randy dogs, and grumpy Transformers farting (not to mention the twins…) and my fears were confirmed. He might be a good action director, but his style is just too heavy handed and completely lacking in subtlety.
Oh, sure, you could argue that the films are only based on a toyline and are never meant to be anything other than braindead entertainment, but for those of us with years invested in the world and the characters, it’s rather insulting that Bay comes along and stomps all over our memories with his heavy handed, disrespectful and OTT style. If only they’d given to job to Robert Zemeckis…

Micheal Bay is without doubt one the worst directors alive. He’s only made two good films, The Rock and Transformers. And the first half of The Island was really good (second half blew nuts). I think has shown potential to make a truly great film but he needs to stay away from the random unfunny comedy that has absolutely nothing to do with the scene (Mom eating pot brownies in Revenge of the Fallen, masturbating reference in Transformers, “black” robot twins in Revenge of the Fallen). And he needs to tone down his action sequences. They always drag on for much too long! In the first half of The Island he did a really good job at examining a character who was in a society that he doubted and didn’t allow him to think for himself, but ruined the movie with the impossible action scenes. He needs to get less cocky, only have scenes and dialog that serve a purpose, and focus more on the character and the plot. If he does that then I would only expect nothing but good film from him. He just can’t get over himself.
