Has anyone read it? Would you suggest it?
From the sound of it, I’d hope it is very helpful to any learning filmmaker at any stage of the game?
Thoughts on the matter?

Thanks!

Absolutely essential reading for any film fans. Run, don’t walk.

It’s a fascinating study of a master filmmaker by a master filmmaker with indispensable insight into Hitchcock’s work. Also quite a treat to read dialogue between the two men, as it’s less an interview and more a conversation. Highly recommended.

Awesome, fun as hell film book- it doesn’t get any better than this. Yea, its like listening in on a great conversation between 2 truly great artists. Hitchcock is wonderfully humble, straight-forward, self-effacing, and unpretentious about his work in the interviews, open to different viewpoints and interpretations of his work, but also more than willing to admit his mistakes and failures. That is a rare thing in great artists and makes it for a much more interesting and fun read than the usual unmitigated praise.

Completely essential. Whatever you’re reading or watching right now, put it down and get this book. It activated my senses at a formative age, but it’s never too late to learn something from this. If you don’t read and digest this book in the next few days, then there’s no reason for you to have an Auteurs account, and you should delete at your earliest opportunity.

I’ve read it. Quite interesting. Two masters sharing about cinema technique, narration. That’s a milestone for movie fan I think.
