Yeah your friend is right. Planet Earth is amazing when under the influence. And yeah, I can’t wait to see “Alice in Wonderland” as well
Decasia:
I have watched the following films while intoxicated with psilocybin (not all at once, mind you…):
The Piano – a beautiful experience, but I became very emotional at the end, reflecting on the brutality that men inflict upon women.
Isadora – quite an experience. Didn’t follow it all but some of the visuals were stunning. Vanessa Redgrave never looked so good.
Angel Heart – heavy going, but I had already seen it so it wasn’t too freaky.
Mildred Pierce – an absolute stunner. The black and white cinematography was awesome to behold.
I also remember seeing Death in Venice and Fellini’s Casanova many years ago under the influence of MJ.
I just watched Holy Mountain while on lsd and it was pretty crazy but I couldn’t tell what was real or not. I think I need to give it another try sober.
Why ruin the experience with sobriety?
sobriety is highly overrated
You know, they’ve been saying that Enter the Void is a trip by itself…
I have no experience with shrooms or acid but I have a friend that makes it a point to watch James and the Giant Peach every time he does.
I’ve found the Austin Powers movies to be hilarious when stoned though.

my all-time favorite is the one that forms in your head when you stare at the television playing snow.
and the Forbidden Zone, can’t forget that one.
I know this is an old thread, but I just found it from searching for a trippy movie to put on myself.
The best acid + movie experience I ever had was watching Tati’s Playtime, in a domed theater put up at a psy festival waaaay into the jungle. Really awesome experience!
mine was all that jazz AMAZING :D incredibly it hasn’t been mentioned once in 2 years of this thread. i see some i would seriously be afraid to try tho. repulsion on hallucinogens? never
disclaimer: i don’t advocate the use of illegal substances :P
Several people have mentioned Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (which turned out to be a disappointment, to say the least), but the 1951 film version already easily trumps it in terms of trippiness.
Further to my earlier post of a year ago… I did once watch “The Graduate” under the influence of psilocybin. It was so incredibly funny. I was astonished at how clever it was. The scene where Dustin Hoffman is hanging around the hotel lobby while Buck Henry watched over him was hysterical – Buck Henry’s manner and expressions were priceless. Not sure how I’d react to it now in a ‘normal’ state of mind.
“Lucky People Center International”…
127 Hours was quite trippy
The 1966 Alice in Wonderland TV movie…. Saw it in the early 70s and it was quite trippy even in a BW tv set.
The scene where Alice enters the TV set prefigures the Stargate/Monolith by two years.
