slow week i know, figured we may as well have something to complain about. From NME:
“The 1988 comedy starred Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as chalk and cheese characters who discover that they are non-identical twins conceived in a botched genetic experiment and separated at birth. While Schwarzenegger’s Julius inherited all the “desirable traits” of the parents, DeVito’s Vincent got saddled with the “genetic trash”. It was directed by Ivan Reitman, who would team up with Schwarzenegger again for Kindergarten Cop and Junior.
Speaking during a promotional appearance for The Expendables 2 at Comic-Con yesterday (July 11), Schwarzenegger confirmed that Universal Pictures is developing a sequel and wants Reitman to participate. He said: “I think they have moved it along, and Ivan Reitman has shown interest in being involved. Universal is excited about it. I’m looking forward to doing it, because I think it will be hilarious.”
Schwarzenegger also revealed that Universal is still looking for a writer for the project. Earlier this year, it was reported that the sequel would be called Triplets and involve Julius and Vincent discovering an even more unlikely relative. Discussing the film with the Evening Standard last month (June), DeVito said: “We’re going to try and do it next year. Arnold and I find out we have another brother, played by Eddie Murphy. I don’t know how it’s going to manifest but it will be fun”.
How desperate!! haha. IT’s not like the original is all that fondly remembered.
