Yeah, I believe Red Dawn was the first PG-13 film.
I haven’t watched it in probably a couple of years but I’d say a PG-13 rating would suit Badlands. Speaking of PG-13, how ’bout that MPAA? I hate them.
The 70’s were a crazy time for PG movies. Back then PG did not mean “kids movie”. I miss those days.

I saw badlands for the first time last night, and I was suprised at the PG rating at first. I thought the violence would justify a PG-13 rating, but then I thought about it more and realized violence isn’t as taboo in the media as maybe sex, drugs, and language. I’m pretty sure if Martin Sheen said fuck once the film would be rated R. I guess what I’m trying to say is that maybe some offensive material in film is considered less taboo than others. I mean, on tv they bairley cut out the violence, but I can’t hear “God-damn” once (unless it’s after ten o’clock sometimes).I don’t know, what do you people think is violence less “Taboo” so to speak?
