it is also my impression of her from her first appearance.
I saw Chantal, the(non) actress who played Madeleine, interviewed. She said how sweet and good her character appears throughout the film, and then people are shocked at the end when she casually mentions to a police officer that she may abort with a coat-hanger!
I was shocked by Chantal’s words, I never thought Madeleine seemed kind or good, and I was actually relieved when she expressed some type of humanity or fragility.
