What a Piece of Shit

God, this trailer’s good. Bummed I missed it on the big screen.

I admire the trailer more than I did the film (even though seeing the whole thing in 4 minutes still feels like a waste of time). In fact, the trailer seems to underline how much of a put-on the actual film is.

But then, Godard has always made excellent trailers, regardless of the shit they may have advertised.

I don’t know if it’s possible to accuse the film of anything but being utterly esoteric. If you’re Jean-Luc Godard, I’m sure its fascinating.

This is the equivalent of Conan the Barbarian, but for the “art film” set. Meaningless filler.

Like all sacred cows, Godard provides no meat.

Possibly.

You make this thread, after constantly creating and deleting profiles, and accuse Godard of meaningless filler?

Thanks for the contribution… it’s probably the best thing you’ve provided this forum in years…

@Wu Yong

When I build up your expectations, and then charge you 10 bucks, then you can complain.

Wu Yong

Nope. You could have posted this worthless comment on its wall and everyone would have ignored you and you wouldn’t have to suffer any complaints. If you’re so attention deprived you have to start a thread on this film and your only argument is, “it’s like Conan,” then, yeah, I have every right to call out that worthless piece of shit comment as such.

Duck and cover. This film is beloved. Though I gave it a lukewarm review when I first saw it.

You saw I started the thread.

You clicked the link.

You knew what you were getting into.

Yeah, your childish cries for attention just need to be called out once in a while. At least so people know how childishly one needs to treat you in all discussions of all kinds.

It’s always refreshing to see a film called “a piece of shit” on here.
I haven’t seen it so have no opinion.

I can’t wait to see this, if for no other reason ….

The original poster reminds me of a friend of mine who recently went to see “Your Highness” and ended up walking out part way through.

Meaning: You knew exactly what you were getting in to and your attempt to portray yourself as a victim is rather obscene.

“It’s always refreshing to see a film called “a piece of shit” on here.”

A phrase which proves that your knowledge status is that of a 10-year old infant’s.

Gee, thanks, psycho Dimitris.

A ten year old infant? How can an infant be ten years old? That’s a pretty sophisticated infant!

this is no worse than saying any art film is better than any mainstream film or other uninformed opinions.

Please provide a link to the “ANY ART FILM IS BETTER THAN ANY MAINSTREAM FILM” thread and I will be glad to post that it is as bad as this thread.

it is said time and again on various threads. here for instance: http://mubi.com/topics/captain-america-first-avenger

Well, I’ll take your word for it that it’s in there but I think the hostility to this thread is due to the whole thing being built around an antagonistic, unsupported and is worded in a juvenile way.

fair enough, all i mean is I have come to expect juvenile on this site, the only two things that have ever bugged me are the statement I qouted above and the notion that actors are merely widgets
