9 Songs Yeah, I bought it for seven bucks on its reputation and the fact that I’m close to someone who I just might really enjoy watching it with ;)
Well, there is not a dull moment in it. Enjoy!

And I thought Prometheus was AMAZING.
Good. That’s why I bought it ;)
You’ve got this one in the bag.
I know Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights is going to be amazing. Too Hyped for tomorrow.
I was able to watch Anatomy of a Murder, but I suspect I will be too busy to watch anything else. [sadface]
gaslight is great. leaving las vegas not so much. altho i really can’t be objective as i had an ex bf who used to watch this all the time aggghh
Leaving Las Vegas is a terrible film.
yeah i’m a little surprised that two people here are watching it this weekend. perhaps they’re rabid cage fans
seeing as i’m stuck home crippled, i will be watching a ton. a nous la liberte, the peddler, our beloved month of august, and as many films from 1925 as i can get my hands on….might even watch a cup film too, if i get so bored that crush looks appealing….
ruby you mean the gaslight with anton walbrook don’t you? he’s so cute when he’s bad.
Probably alternate between a DVD of Lubitsch’s The Love Parade and some Immamura films that I found on the Roku. Maybe Profound Desire of the Gods.
I am watching Jade right now and may finally catch Dark Shadows tomorrow night
aside from movies, I have a great weekend planned
going to see Frankie Avalon in concert tonight and tomorrow spending the day in Jamestown
I’ll be watching you.
you might be for a bit but once Frankie Avalon hits the stage I am sure all eyes will be on him.
Oh, well I’m going to squeeze in an anniversary in between my movie watching. Hmmmm….wonder if there are any good anniversary movies. Something horrific, perhaps.
I’m going through an immersive Weimar Berlin phase, again.
I’m in the middle of Marketa Lazarova. For the theaters I’m thinking Moonrise Kingdom or Nobody Else But You.
I’m with G-Legs and Ruby on Leaving Las Vegas. One of those films I have scorn for. Terribly hammy acting by Cage. UGH AWFUL.
This scene was the beginning of the end for me. Slo-mo drinking in the shower. SOOOO dumb.

Just saw “Moonrise Kingdom” at the theater.
Might see “Prometheus” tomorrow if I’m up to it
Hopefully tonight I’ll crank out “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “Prometheus.” Tomorrow will be fairly mild; possibly “Cats Don’t Dance” and “Madagascar 3.”
LLV was not bad. I enjoyed the excruciatingly ’90s mise-en-scene in an ironic way, and Cage was not terribly over-the-top. Shue gave the better performance though.
Ubu is not loading for me so no Nick Zedd. Healthy People for Fun was a disappointment (you can see me comments on its page), still looking forward to Crush and Celine and Julie.
Cage is God.
I love Nicolas Cage. Can’t wait to watch Leaving Las Vegas, even if it is crap.
Hate Cage.
Though that is not news. :D
What don’t you like about him, Odil?
Watched Prometheus last night. It was a mess and colossal disappointment, given the hype. As a standalone film, it fails. As an entry into the Alien mythos, it fails. As a showcase for amazing special effects and another great Fassbender performance, it succeeds. I had a good time watching it and I thought there was one brilliantly-executed sequence, but otherwise it’s riddled with countless plot holes, mindless stock characters, cringe-worthy dialogue and it thinks it’s profound – which is the most painful element.
Lover — I find he overacts in almost everything that he does.

he had some pretty cool lookin triangle chest hair in valley girl though

9 Songs eh?…. Quite the uh, film….
I’m probably going to go on a road trip to Mt Rushmore on Monday or Tuesday, so I’m gonna cram a lot in.
