What do you do for a living?

We’ve had a college topic. So what does everybody do for a living?

I work on web sites. Originally design, now more marketing. Actually, I’m currently “in between” jobs at the moment. I’m thinking of doing something else though I’m not sure what yet.

I study graphic design and graphic communication, aswell as art. But now during this summer I’m unemployed. That’s why I get the time to watch film every day.

Software Developer, healthcare software company.

I’m more a back end developer but I’ve been working on a web application because we’re understaffed and none of the CSS developers they keep hiring can wrap their head around Backbone.

Video generalist and post-production specialist. In addition to being able to support almost any side of the production process, which is where I seek my real paychecks, I also give extremely low interest loans to noncommercial micro-budget filmmakers to spread the wealth out a bit. Like many others, I am ‘in between jobs’ aka unemployed right now, but helping out on a few creative projects here there while looking mostly for institutional video contracting work.

I build sets at a local community theater and do corporate videos and stuff when it’s available. However, in a couple weeks I’m leaving the states for a year to teach English in Taiwan.

I work for MUBI.

I am a media and information specialist by profession.
I work in the marketing and sales department of an international scientific-technical organization, mainly as a website administrator.
In my spare time I work voluntarily as an editor here on MUBI.

Are there any carpenters or plumbers around here?

I’m a book binder and I work for an art museum shooting artist profiles to be shown on the Internet.

Also work as a production assistant/grip on commercials and films when I can find the work.

Watch movies. Listen to music. Read. Travel. Sleep.

Before this I played music (guitar, bass, piano)…owned and operated an import/export business (in Cebu)…owned an art gallery (in Osaka)…managed the distribution of a major sporting goods company (in Mississauga)…..
