I want an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two hundred shot range model air rifle!
i keep a little notebook of stuff that catches my eye (in addition to various other to-dos), just so if i ever find myself with cash to burn on a book or a dvd or an indonesian child bride i can look and go “oh hey i really wanted that.”
it seems like everything not yet crossed off is from the book side of town, though. e.g. the catalogue of shepard fairey’s ica boston exhibit from last year; the catalogue of the crime and punishment exhibit at the musee orphee (or whatever, too tired to look up the proper name) earlier this year; “the brinkley girls: the best of nell brinkley’s cartoons 1913-1940”; “take me to the water: immersion baptism in vintage music and photography 1890-1950”; glen e. friedman’s “fuck you heroes”; marcelline krafchick’s “how belief stories matter”; and a bunch of books given shout-outs in the review section of the new yorker recently.
or maybe just like a digital subscription to wire magazine. who knows. it’d make more sense.
a new furnace
This is just for movies:
The Thin Red Line
The Darjeeling Limited
The Night of the Hunter
Cronos
Predators
Inception
I told anyone who would listen that I want that America Lost and Found box set. I got pretty much everything else I wanted during that B&N 50% off sale. If I don’t get it, I hope I at least get enough cash/gift cards to get it anyway.
World peace, and this -

I could deal with just this though. ;)

The only thing I want is the BBS box set
Last Year at Marienbad
More Barbara Loden films.
Contempt
Masculin féminin
YI YI
Cría cuervos
Roberto Rossellini’s war trilogy
Senso
Stage and spectacle: Three films by Jean Renoir
The magic flute
Carl Theodor Dreyer box set
A Film Trilogy by Ingmar Bergman

I just rele want that Kurosawa and Modern Times, the rest I can live without.
Amazon has Inception and Expendable for 30$ if you buy them together tho…
