How can I forget Kurosawa’s “IKIRU”…..it really hits close to my life.

In Crash when the latino guy’s daughter gets “shot” made me cry real hard. I felt stupid by getting so swept up by that movie by the time it was over.

Don’t really know why, but that scene at the end of David Fincher’s “The Game” when Sean Penn steps toward his dazed and confused brother, played by Michael Douglas, and with pride in his voice, says “Ladies and gentlemen, my brother, Nicholas Van Orton.”

Also, that moment in “Field of Dreams” when Burt Lancaster’s character steps back across that line, abandoning his own dream, in order to save that little girl’s life. Priceless…

One I forgot to mention: The use of the home movie reel as the last scene in Lynne Littman’s “Testament” always has a profound effect on me, when I am able to watch it.

The scene in Beaches when the little girl is comparing her hands with her mom. I won’t say anymore. If you haven’t seen it, watch it. I saw this film in the theatre when I was 9 and I cried. I still cry every time I see it.

Electra Glide in Blue- closing scene
The Swimmer- closing scene
The Brown Bunny- “Remember how after dinner when you were done eating, you would always turn sideways in your chair and pat your thighs and I would come and sit on your lap? You would let me sit their for a long time and we would kiss.”
Midnight Cowboy as the theme song plays for the last time.

I cry all the time. My younger sister visited me recently and brought Love, Actually. There is like a two minute scene where Emma Thompson is listening to Joni Mitchell cover her own tune “Both Sides Now.” Thompson just stands there, does not say a word. I could not stop crying.

The end of City Lights and The Gold Rush always make me cry. And of course Magnolia, when Frank TJ Mackey tells Earl Partridge, “I’m not going to cry for you.”

Also, the final 15 minutes of Paths of Glory.

I second on City Lights.

The scene in The Life Aquatic where Steve Zissou finally finds the Jaguar shark. The music begins to play and he asks: “I wonder if he remembers me?” And he begins to cry and they all put their hands on his shoulder.

Just recently I felt kind of weird toward the end of Revolutionay Road.

Some scenes of The Piano didn’t make me cry, but they made me feel something just by the way it was made

Victoria, in the night-time bed-room scene, saying Good-Bye to Paulie in “Lost & Delirious.” And Victoria telling Mouse, in the library, to stick wtih Paulie because she. Victoria, has to leave her. This marvelous Canadian film wasn’t understood by American audiences, who perceived it as soft-core lesbo porn (which is probably why HBO aired it at 5 a.m.) I came away with a better understanding of gays and gay-ness.A real masterpiece, with interesting origins: the Director (Directress), Lea Pool, is a Swiss-Canadian. Rent it, watch it; over and over.

The last film I saw that I cried during was Man on the Moon – at the end.

Also, at the end of Paris, Je t’aime – when Carol the postwoman is talking in French about her life.
I think I’ve cried once at the end of Lost in Translation.

I’ve cried a few times over the past few weeks, but I can’t remember the films.

In FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS when “bubby” joins the team on the bus for the championship game is a recent example of a scene that brought tears to my eyes.

“I wonder if he remembers me?” I also cried during the jaguar shark scene. I was really swept away by the scene; I had laughed my way through the whole movie and was really not expecting such emotion to swell up in me, especially as I pretty much never cry during films.

These have each gotten me more than once:
When Adrien Brody comes out of the river in Darjeeling Limited.
When the younger sister comforts the recently-discovered-to-be-colorblind Paul Dano in Little Miss Sunshine.
When the old doctor steps over the foul line in Field of Dreams.
When Lee Pace almost dies in The Fall.
“I could have saved more.” in Schindler’s List.
When Sean Penn falls and smashes the cake in I am Sam, and a number of other moments in that one also.

Oddly, I well up when Esteban gets eaten in THE LIFE AQUATIC.
