I wouldn’t mind seeing some Pedro Almodovar on here, namely Talk to Her.
Let’s try to keep this one on the front page for months. K?
Almost anything by Hirokazu KoreEda
How about Leopoldo Torre Nilsson.s films from Argentina?
I doubt that Torre Nilsson’s films will get picked up. But I’m rooting for Robert Kramer, Jon Jost and Tom Noonan.
Manoel De Oliveira, Jaques Rivette, Ritwik Ghatak, Boris Barnet, Glauber Rocha
Louis Feuillade, and Yasuzo Masumura. If they Realese anything by these directors I’d be happy!
GOKE: Bodysnatcher from hell.
Any non French and non Godard films. Sadly it looks like more and more are announced each month.
“araya”
and
“triumph of the will” (or maybe Olympia happens to be a better choice)
women movies
I think it’s about time that Satyajit Ray get the criterion and/or blu-ray treatment.
^
Indeed. Long overdue.
Dersu Uzala (Akira Kurosawa), and Koker trilogy from Kiarostami.
And some Herzog please!
Balamos by Stavros Tornes desperately needs a DVD release with subtitles.
Pirosmani by Georgiy Shengelaya would be nice.
Might never happen but Jesús Franco deserves some Criterion love (even though more and more of his films are now getting better DVD releases)
New Romanian Cinema (Puiu, Porumboiu)
Araya
La caza
Reygadas
all of them
“l age d ou” and “un chien andalou” in blu ray edition.
The 5 I want the most
Aguirre, The Wrath of God
Grave of the Fireflies
The White Ribbon
Amelie
Talk To Her
Normal People are Nothing Exceptional/Les gens normaux n’ont rien d’exceptionnel (1993) by Laurence Ferreira Barbosa
Grave of the Fireflies should have been part of Criterion a long, long time ago.
There are way too many films from the last 100 years that I want to see released by Criterion. It would take too long for me to list them.
Ryan: The White Ribbon is coming out on Blu-ray and DVD from Sony Pictures Classics on June 29th
INH,TIH: I wouldn’t be surprised if Kino considers “Dersu Uzala” for a Blu-ray release…if it’s possible.
luis bunuel y la mesa del rey salomon
the 2001 Spanish film by Carlos saura
Generally speaking, I would prefer that they focus on things not currently avalible on DVD rather than just tidied-up re-releases.
love to see weekend also (the jean luc goddard film)
The Color of Pomegranates, Kino’s transfer is awful. The version on YouTube looks better than the DVD.
nosthalgia
A Brighter Summer Day above all else, and Hou’s The Puppetmaster.
Sara Gomez-De cierta manera. Along with her short films.
-A Brighter Summer Day-
That one’s a vitual lock to be Criterion.

I’M ROOTING FOR ANGELOPOLOUS’S COMPLETE FILMOGRAPHY MYSELF. I ALSO LIKE TO SEE SOME EGYPTIAN FILMS AS WELL.
