“i want to know what is the 1 point difference between the last detail, scarlet empress and the far country :)”
It involves a very complicated calculus that prorates Sternberg’s gothic expressiveness with Mann’s expressive landscapes by Ashby’s expressive realism divided by Dietrich’s mannered sultriness, Stewart’s brittle grittiness and Nicholson’s humane surliness. :)
Z. Bart. Much as I am awestruck by aspects of Head, I can’t quite get my head around it. I like anarchistic comedies but this might be even too anarchistic for me. I probably should just leave it unrated. The Monkeys made some great tunes around that era though.

heavens what a dense wall of films, great effort Tommy!
Sophie Marceau was particularly ravishing in My Nights I thought ♥
Oh yeah definitely. I don’t care much for Zulawski but that one was great. I knew I had to watch it since it had both Marceau and Dutronc. It’s actually one of three Zulawskis I really like.
Watched Valérie Kaprisky in a double feature recently, Breathless and La femme publique which was fun – love the start of L’amour braque !
L’amour Braque has been one I’ve been wanting to watch if only for Marceau. I’ve only seen La femme publique with Kaprisky so that’s enough to want to see more with her. The only other Zulawski I like is Third Part of the Night. No matter how bad I think the others are, I still find myself very intrigued by his work.
WOW I know I joined the right club, when the average number of movies watched in a month is 30!! Love it.
And wow Tommy what a list of films! I would love to see Lilja 4 ever. Maybe time to bump it up my list.
