Goodbye, South, Goodbye
The amount of films I have to watch to even be able to converse on this site is astronomical
i have had problems with my address lately. the last thing i sent back was On The Beach. I was supposed to get Alphaville but that messed up so after two weeks without a netflix movie, I should be getting Masculin Feminin tomorrow. I have a little Godard phase comin up. Which is exciting. So i will again try to get Alphaville followed by Made in the USA.
>>I have 487 movies in my queue (the limit is 500)<<
Wow. I thought I was bad with about 200 in my (Blockbuster) queue …
Pushed a lot of werewolf titles to the top recently for an article I’m writing …
Right now, I’ve had Seijun Suzuki’s Zigeunerweisen at home for a week or so—I watched it once, and based on the surprise ending, I want to watch it again to see what I might have missed (but haven’t had time yet—maybe tonight).
Next in my queue: A Colt Is My Passport! This will be my third movie from Nikkatsu Noir; the first two were fantastic (Cruel Gun Story and Take Aim At The Police Van—why don’t movies have titles like this anymore?).
I think after that is Godard’s Notre Musique, which will be my first post-Weekend Godard film. Very curious to see it.

If I may digress…I’m a dumb ass and didn’t post what was in my “At Home” queue and posted a long, ass-hole post. For that, I apologize.
My “At Home” Queue consists of: Midnight Cowboy (watched and loved it), Revolutionary Road, and Margot At The Wedding.

71 Fragments & The Castle. The inimitable Haneke. I always feel as though I should have with me one of those slim and spotted workbooks whenever I place a Haneke film in my dvd tray. The better to accommodate the stern and humorless lesson I am about to receive on punishment and violence from Herr Haneke. Yet, I keep coming back. Why? I am weak and subservient.
The Castle is phkng great
Coup de Torchon, aka Clean Slate, based on Jim Thompson’s excellent novel Pop. 1280. It was really good.
At home right now, Edvard Munch (Masterful. Fascinating. An essential.) and The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Have yet to watch.)
I just sent back Paris, Texas and I’ll be getting Punch Drunk Love soon. I don’t know why I haven’t seen all of PTA’s films considering TWBB is my favorite film of all time.
