The world is absurd. Maybe the sun was too hot, maybe his relative died recently, maybe he saw the latest comedy with a new girlfriend. Actions are not logical in reality and thus we can never justify “what the matter with [De Niro]” is.

He’s become just like Nicholson. Sleepwalking through roles and raking in the bucks. I realize that meaty roles are hard to come by at their age but it’s still no excuse for not trying to do something challenging occasionally. At least Nicholson is still entertaining to watch whereas DeNiro has become a bore. When was the last time he was actually interesting in a movie?
Yes maybe its harder to get good roles at his age..
I mean he and Al Pacino together fifteen years ago would have been like.. the most amazing movie ever. but NO it wasnt .
The Departed is one of Nicholson latest movies, a good movie that makes me forget about ´somethings gotta give´ but seems to me like De niro doesn´t care anymore.

Like I said before, it seems like he’s not even trying.
It’s not that he doesn’t care, he just doesn’t get any decent scripts anymore. Good scripts are hard to come by for young actors and nearly impossible for old ones. DeNiro is one of these guys that just needs to act. If an amazing script were to land on his desk, of course he’d do it. In the meantime, he’s just happy to act, period.
The Good Shepard was a welcome turn for De Niro as actor, and it was well directed.
I must admit to having not seen The Good Shepard but he’s been slumming ever since Rocky & Bullwinke give or take a couple of roles for the most part.

He started up so good.
Every decade the 70´s 80´s some of the 90´s but
I mean now he´s in Rocky & Bullwinke or whatever..
I´m a De Niro fan and I will always be but it´s hard to admire him looking
at his recent films..
I just wish he could go back to those great characters with great directors
and great performances .
He´s still good at waht he does but… I don´´t know i miss the old de niro
