I don’t have many Criterions, and am not sure what’s OOP – but of the few I have, I think Port of Shadows, Le Corbeau, Silence of the Lambs and The Bank Dick are all OOP?

First version of Seven Samurai (not the restoration comparison though)
Dead Ringers (an innocently purchased bootleg though… does that count? :o)
The Silence of the Lambs
Robocop
First version of Brazil box set
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (but see comment on Dead Ringers)
The Bank Dick
Variety Lights
The Harder They Come
Tokyo Olympiad
Le Corbeau
Port of Shadows

…and I’m awaiting delivery on the Hitchcock box set

Where did you find Straw Dogs and how much did you get it for? I’m dieing to see that movie.

I bought it when it was released, and I think it was around $50. It’s a very easily obtainable film (You can get MGM’s release on Amazon for about 4 bucks), but the Criterion release is essential because you get a feature length documentary on Peckinpah on the second disc.

This is Spinal Tap

I used to have Tokyo Olympiad and Silence of the Lambs but I sold them for big bucks.

I noticed that no one here has mentioned Flesh for Frankenstein or Blood for Dracula. I myself have no interest in those films, never saw them.

I only have silence of the lambs on dvd that is OOP.
as for laserdisc: i have raging bull, taxi driver, sid and nancy, dodes-ka-den, the lady vanishes, breathless, cat people, and trainspotting.

I’m not counting newer versions of films already in the Criterion catalogue. Whilst the original pressings maybe out-of-print, the films themselves are not, so are not technically out-of-print and unavailable.

NOTORIOUS. Of course, with MGM re-releasing it, it isn’t as special anymore.

I have them all but the original Salo, but I could care less since the new set is way better. PQ on most of these OOPs have greatly improved on other studio releases, but I guess they’re worth it for the Criterion features/commentaries.

Zulyn

Silence of the Lambs. Is it worth anything?

Matt Parks

Excepting ones were taken OOP for new Criterion editions, I think Robocop, Ran, and Silence of the Lambs are it for me.
