Just Straw Dogs for me.
I don’t have many Criterions, and am not sure what’s OOP – but of the few I have, I think Port of Shadows, Le Corbeau, Silence of the Lambs and The Bank Dick are all OOP?
First version of Seven Samurai (not the restoration comparison though)
Dead Ringers (an innocently purchased bootleg though… does that count? :o)
The Silence of the Lambs
Robocop
First version of Brazil box set
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (but see comment on Dead Ringers)
The Bank Dick
Variety Lights
The Harder They Come
Tokyo Olympiad
Le Corbeau
Port of Shadows
…and I’m awaiting delivery on the Hitchcock box set
Where did you find Straw Dogs and how much did you get it for? I’m dieing to see that movie.
I bought it when it was released, and I think it was around $50. It’s a very easily obtainable film (You can get MGM’s release on Amazon for about 4 bucks), but the Criterion release is essential because you get a feature length documentary on Peckinpah on the second disc.
John Woo’s “Hard Boiled”
Double bill package of “The Killers”
Ichikawa’s “Tokyo Olympiad”
“The Harder They Come”
Unbearable Lightness of Being

@Drew-Amazon has some listings for the Criterion of Straw Dogs for under $30.

The Bank Dick

Dead Ringers
I used to have Tokyo Olympiad and Silence of the Lambs but I sold them for big bucks.
I noticed that no one here has mentioned Flesh for Frankenstein or Blood for Dracula. I myself have no interest in those films, never saw them.
Spinal Tap… nice. that one is still going for mucho $ on ebay and amazon.
I only have silence of the lambs on dvd that is OOP.
as for laserdisc: i have raging bull, taxi driver, sid and nancy, dodes-ka-den, the lady vanishes, breathless, cat people, and trainspotting.
Straw Dogs
Silence of the Lambs
Robocop
Seven Samurai (first edition)
Harder They Come
Dead Ringers

I actually sold a few more, but I rebought them later when a couple of local Hollywood videos went out of business…$5 each!
@Dave. Don’t feel bad about the bootleg. I spent $100 on ebay for a bootleg of The Killer. They got me good!

Quai des Orfèvres
I’m not counting newer versions of films already in the Criterion catalogue. Whilst the original pressings maybe out-of-print, the films themselves are not, so are not technically out-of-print and unavailable.
An early edition of “Brazil”
NOTORIOUS. Of course, with MGM re-releasing it, it isn’t as special anymore.
Notorious
Tokyo Olympiad
Quai des Orfevres
Spellbound
Port of Shadows
I have them all but the original Salo, but I could care less since the new set is way better. PQ on most of these OOPs have greatly improved on other studio releases, but I guess they’re worth it for the Criterion features/commentaries.
the unbearable lightness of being, silence of the lambs, spellbound, rebecca, notorious, straw dogs, seven samurai (first print), short cuts (first print), the lady vanishes (first print), and the third man (first print).
damn………..i want Quai des Orfevres and Le Corbeau……didn’t know was out of print……….
Hi Guys,
I have them ALL, except Wrong Men & Notorious Women Hitchcock Box..
Wow… well I didn’t realize Ran went out of print. Thank god I just got it.
Ran and Contempt
Ran
Silence of the Lambs
Dead Ringers
Robocop
The Silence of the Lambs
Robocop
Flesh for Frankenstein
Ran
Port of Shadows (I did not know this was out of print)
@Jeff, I bought those 2 the other day on amazon, they should still have them
Silence of the Lambs. Is it worth anything?
Excepting ones were taken OOP for new Criterion editions, I think Robocop, Ran, and Silence of the Lambs are it for me.
Drew.
I have:
Dead Ringers
Silence of the Lambs
The Lady Vanishes (first issue)
