Steve Buscemi: Ass Director would be a great title for his memoir.
Sorry, but it had to be said. His version of Interview was decent, but it’s hard to top Theo van Gogh. Apparently some sort of Remake Trilogy was supposed to happen to van Gogh’s films, to honor his death, but I haven’t heard about anything happening with that other than Buscemi’s film.
jajaja, I’m sorry for the ASS Steve, I didn’ t do it on purpose
This thread title made me sob with laughter.
No realy!!! I didn’t do it on porpouse, please don’ t pay atention to the funny think
I just laughed out loud at work and now people are looking in my direction..
Trees Lounge and Animal Factory are pretty decent and I quite enjoyed his version of Interview.. I think Lonesome Jim was OK but now that I try to recall it, I’ve found it’s one of those that was burned right out of my memory! I guess I can’t say it was memorable..hah..actually makes me thing of a topic to start though..
lonesome jim was nice. Nothing fantastic. should i see his other films, then?
I like Tree’s Lounge quite a bit. Animal Factory is also pretty good and worth watching just to see Mickey Rourke in drag. Lonesome Jim was kind of forgettable,
Animal Factory was great, and I’m told a very realistic depiction of prison life. Tree’s Lounge was good. I never bothered to watch Lonesome Jim, and now I’m feeling fine about that. Thanks, Mr. King and Mr. Oerkfitz.
Nah, I’m still laughing… Steve Buscemi’s ass is a greater directorial force than Brett Ratner’s brain…
The episodes he filmed for The Sopranos were excellent, to the extent that you could tell that someone else was at the helm suddenly. Animal Factory I like a lot—- simple and powerful. He knows how to work his actors.
I thought Ass was a masterpiece. I was actually unaware that it was directed by Steve Buscemi. I adore Tree’s Lounge, by the way.
Aw, man..this thread title is one of the funniest I’ve ever seen on this site. I love Steve. Yeah, I agree with T, his episodes for the Sopranos are brilliant. In fact, Pine Barrens is my favorite Sopranos episode. If you just look at the wikipedia page of that episode and see all the connections it has, intentional or otherwise, it’s amazing.
When you read or listen to Steve’s interviews, he clearly has a respect for the medium, and has learned well from the directors he’s worked with (Jarmusch, Coens, etc.).

Of course one of my favourite actors, and now I have my eye in his movies, but like director, the other day I see Animal Factory, and I love it, and then I see The Interview , with the pice of art Sienna Miller, hoooo.
