Amir, if you read the DVD Beaver review here, it’s stated that, while this DVD version is VERY good, some inherent softness, etc., is probably what kept it from going Blu. I mean, that’s kind of understandable, but I see what you mean, too, and it would be nice to see this on Bluray, one day. I’m going to buy the standard DVD, too, though. :)

I am definitely bummed that this wasn’t released on BluRay. Brando is my favorite actor of all time, and it would have been nice to own my first Brando on BluRay, and on Criterion to boot! I may have to break down and buy the DVD version. Criterion did such an amazing job on B&W’s such as The Third Man and Seventh Seal, that I would think this one would look absolutely gorgeous on HD.
