Blue K has the best pedophile jokes.
Who is Alois and why would I blame him for Nick Cassavetes?
There’s some really funky threads going down the pike right now. Luckily I actually have some work to do so I’m not really paying attention.
Hitler’s dad. Haha I looked up his name just because I felt like being random. And you wondered why people would want to be John Cassavetes kid since “have you seen My Sister’s Keeper?”.
And yes today has been weird.
My father is a director in a non-film sense. I think I would like to keep him. Is that allowed?
Haha yes, Law. I don’t know why anyone would want to have a director as their father because they are probably going to be busy on projects and not give you much attention.
i think he deserves more credit for his double pronged joke RUS, he’s got the pedophilia down but dont forget that the children of polanski are known to suffer even worse fates
No, I don’t think Hitler’s dad should be held responsible for Nick Cassavetes. But I will attribute the cinematic quality of John Q to Nick’s childhood under John’s roof. Although to be fair, Gena bares some of that blame too.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
There really needs to be more Woody Allen jokes on this thread. Polanski may have been convicted of statutory rape but Woody Allen married his own (adopted) daughter. I think that takes the cake.
OFF TOPIC QUESTION: Why is there any discussion of charges being dropped against Polanski? He had sex with a 13 year old when he was 44 which is both sick and against the law. So he runs off for 40+ years and then suddenly he no longer did anything wrong. Can someone who knows more about the case explain it to me?
Hey if you pick Eisenstein or Van Sant does that mean you can pick two fathers?
Drew it’s a little more complicated than that. A great way to educate yourself on the subject is a documentary that was released in 2008 called Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired.
Its on NetFlix Watch Instantly so I will check it out soon. Ya I figured it was more complicated than that, because it always is.
@Drew – Watch the recent documentary called Wanted and Desired. It’ll explain in great detail what happened in the case. In a nutshell, Polanski DID serve the sentence he was given, the victim has repeatedly said that the case should be dropped and he should be allowed to return to the U.S., and it was the corrupt judge who was a media showboater that Polanski fled the country. I don’t condone what Polanski did and he certainly should pay for his crime but I would’ve fled the country also, to avoid that circus if I knew I was being used for some guy’s massive ego.
The irony of course is that we crucify Polanski and want to put him in jail for life yet every other Tom, Dick, and Harry celebrity in LA never get convicted of anything.
Yeah, but still what is a 40 year old doing around 13 year olds? Thes same goes for Michel Jackson. There is a lot that has to happen for a man to find himself in that situation.
“The irony of course is that we crucify Polanski and want to put him in jail for life yet every other Tom, Dick, and Harry celebrity in LA never get convicted of anything.”
I have always felt that when a celebrity makes an error, as long as they back it up with some good work they are forgiven by the public. If Kobe Bryant was not playing as well as he is people would still be talking about his problems. If Michael Jackson had come out with the next Thriller two years ago people wouldn’t have talked about his behaviors as much. People like to idolize the athletes, musicians, etc. they like, but if they aren’t liking them at the moment they don’t give a shit. I believe if Polanski had stayed and served a few years, and then had made the films he has made recently (The Pianist, etc.) no one would talk about it.
I’m still amazed that the jury in the first Phil Spector trial came to a mistrial. The guy had a history of SHOVING GUNS in people’s mouths and 12 people from Los Angeles couldn’t agree that he shot that woman.
I can’t wait until I become famous!
Grey Daisies, with that Garrel/Denis parentage you’d have both cool taste in music and a heroin habit.
I take this as a serious question, so no Chaplin, Hitchcock, Bartas, Kubrick or Skolimowski for me.
I’d take Walerian Borowczyk, and as a second choice King Hu.
Obviously a filthy rich, complacent, talentless hack, so I could say, “Screw you, I’m going to make great art — give me your connections and my trust fund.”
Victor Salva.
Because I’m a big fan of Powder.
[That’s a lie. No one likes Powder.]
Justin, that’s a great one. Should he also violently traumatise you during your childhood so as to lend you inspiration for many well-crafted tragedies in the future? :)
Oh yeah, everything I do would be a satire/expose of him. lol.
One of the Dardennes or Kiarostami…
Agnès Varda
Bert Gordon. Or Herschell Gordon Lewis.
John Waters….
what’s for breakfast, aunt Divine?
Tyler Perry, but only if Leni Riefenstahl could be mom.

Or vice versa lol

Varda but without Demy? How about Renoir? Understandably devious thinking by Bob Stutsman. As for other film-maker offspring I have good impressions of Samira Makhmalbaf, whether as daughter, sister and mother, but may be wrong.
