I agree. Also, I would never join a Mubi club that would have me as a member. Maybe we need to ‘unmuzzle’ certain people before this love-in really gets too gooey.
There is no best Mubi member. There are, however, great Mubi conversations. And that is the best thing about this site.

Worst MUBI Member: Either Vanselow (sexist, stalks Odilonvert) or Hank the Tank (incomprehensible, somewhat creepy). On second thought, Hank the Tank is probably some avant-garde form of digital art, so yeah, Vanselow.

Curious, though, as to how you could stalk someone when you’re on the Internet, but hey, nothing’s impossible, for better or for worse…

M. Hulot has been the most helpful mubi user for me. He is so strict with his ratings that I am keen to see a film if it has got anything above one star from him, and I have found several great films I might not have been so keen to see otherwise because of this.
Vanselow is the worst I ever saw here, a juggernaut, clever and knowledgeable enough to slap down some compelling posts yet a narcissistic alienating bully… I never knew he stalked our Odi.
Odi has helped me better navigate the site and do more listings on threads and my page. Ruby has good suggestions about early films. Willow has some great horror suggestions. So those three have been really helpful to me.

You stalk people by following them on discussions, picking apart their every post and personally insulting them.
I made my page private because of him. The last thing I wanted was for him to be harassing me via email and on my own wall.

Apologies if this thread has turned into MUBI gossip, but that comment by Vanselow, along with another one on a thread about The Help where he was moderated for saying he wanted to whip Odi in an S&M scenario, made me permanently hate him. Not to mention the fact that he constantly objectifies women on his (now private) profile.
I also dislike that he is a 9/11 truther, but I suspect that some MUBI friends of mine share this opinion, so I’ll let him slide on that one.
