WHO ARE "THE SHIRTLESS PERFORMERS?"

You all know me. THE Opinion.

Recently I rewatched the 1962 Cape Fear in order to finalize THE Opinion on the film and I noticed Robert Mitchum spent most of the film without a shirt. When I saw this, I beckoned back to the masterful shirtless performances of Matthew Mcconaughey and Taylor Lautner.

I’m creating a new group of elite actors known as the “Shirtless Performers.” Do you have any suggestions for entrance into this high society?

Julianne Moore? Who?

Did I get them all?

I would nominate Bruce Lee.

Daniel Craig would be an obvious choice

Alright people, good nominations. Yes, these folks did have good shirtless performances, but did any of them make an effort to make them truly great shirtless performance? Going out of their way to get that shirt off at every chance they could? Do these shirtless performers have a repertoire of great top skin flicks?

Right now we’re observing the great topless performances – not the masters of their craft.

Can’t recall her name, but I think one of the women in Ed Wood’s Orgy of the Dead was quite happy spending her time in the film topless and dancing in a graveyard.

Robert Downey Jr. in recent performances such as Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes haven’t gone unnoticed, not just for his acting prowess but because he lost his shirt. A shame the scenes were bits and pieces, but enough to join your ranks of masterful shirtless performers one can argue. Its too bad Joss Whedon didn’t exercise this very subtle part of RDJ’s repertoire in The Avengers.

Mr Opinion, I think one could argue the repeat offending of Robert Downey Jr in your canon of elite Shirtless Performers.

Mr Prokow, I agree. I think you are correct in entering RDJ in with our other topless warriors. Are you looking to be considered as one of the cofounders as well?

I don’t know if I need that much responsibility. I was mostly just forcing the RDJ issue. There are many wannabe shirtless performers who very much look like clowns, but RDJ is authentic to the core (and his abs). I do appreciate the consideration THE Opinion and I’m glad you took my suggestion to heart, and that we have become such good peers.
