We’re better because we’re green. My reasoning, you ask?
Green = Blue + Red
Blue = Sad
Red = Anger
Green = Neutral
Neutral > Sad
HUZZAH!
Who are the Axis and who are the Allies…?
i’m down with the auteurs! and i dont slap or scratch. i throw knockout blows!
Might I interrupt the humorous flow of this thread to insert a gnawing concern of mine…
I think I may have once registered with Criterion Forum. Lately, though, and often, I’ve received numerous emails from “The Criterion Collection Forum” with the subject as “New Personal Message”. Opening the emails, I see that I have personal messages from the likes of “justrakop”, “burdickaz” and “hylokopser” and an invitation to click on the embedded link.
I don’t click the link. I go to the Criterion Forum website and can’t find any evidence that I have personal messages.
Wouldn’t you assume that this is phishing? Maybe they just want to get in a fist fight. With inexpressive handles like “hylopkopser”, I’m sure I could defeat them merely with metaphors.
I have in the past visited the other side, but now am here, and was once schooled in the noble art of fisticuffs, i learned to sting and dance and shuffle and slip a punch from the master Ali, i hardened myself with “hands of stone” Duran, and a few years ago the Shaolin monks came thousands of miles out of their way so that i could meet them. So if i can help at all…..but my rheumatism’s setting in a bit, like Godfrey in Dad’s Army
I can make a mean pancake. So if we have a Pancake-Off, I’d come damn close to kicking their ass!
The best option is to win without fighting, but if it comes to it…
I’m your huckleberry.
>>I think I may have once registered with Criterion Forum. Lately, though, and often, I’ve received numerous emails from “The Criterion Collection Forum”<<
I’ve lost track of how many boards there are with Criterion in the title. I registered with one just as they departed – like Mayans – for elsewhere. Then they came back for awhile & during that time I was getting emails alerting me to PMs at the site. They were all links to porno sites. I think the residents have departed once again & I’ve gotten no more emails. If I could figure out how to terminate my memebrship there, I would.
But they are not criterionforum.org, where I also post some. It’s a different feel from this board, that’s for sure, but I won’t say more than that.
If there’s a cheesecake bakeoff between the two, I’ll concoct for this side, OK?
I presume Wildfire is on our side. So there’s the answer. Simple really.
I’m sure they have no knife larger than my own. I mean, I got this big fuckin knife, you don’t even know.
I just watched Pumping Iron, When We Were Kings and Rocky back to back. Bring em on! …. Incidentally, are there any good weightlifting/bodybuilding movies besides Pumping Iron?
Whoa, Jay Leighty sounds buff! We’re gonna kick their asses! Glemaud is going to flip big, hot pancakes at their faces and while they can’t see Jay Leighty and Bobby Wise gonna punch some mofos. Then the rest of us can talk frankly about who’s winning.
I am here – ‘nuff said! Use my long posts like a form of Chinese water torture to weaken their defenses and make them beg for mercy. (By the way – not to brag or anything – I have a black belt in withering sarcasm – really – just in case it is needed). I, too, am fed up with those bleepin’ ‘personal’ messages. Also, the porn site was no damn good! There was another Criterion site I joined before this one, Criterion Collection Forum:
http://www.criterionforum.com/
Any comments on that one? Take on both with one hand tied behind our back? Which, of all three groups, has the most posers? I suggest we have a duel where we analyze 8 1/2 at twenty paces and give the other group looks of contemptuous scorn to their pathetic attempts – they would whither in front of us.
Guys, can’t we all just get along?
Whatever, man. Either way it is Arthouse Man keeping you down. Call it Criterion, The Auteurs, Rialto, Janus— makes no difference. The Arthouse Man has got you right where he wants you: complacent, watching foreign films from all over the globe, bovine. Just another tool buying his pricey wares, his lovely pricey wares.
Aw, Kenji. You’re a real pal.
Next time we’re flying our fighters over occupied France, I gotcher back.
Cineaste – I’ve had the same problem. I registered there about two years ago, never really had the chance to spend much time there and it all seemed too overwhelming really, but now get seriously spammed. It’s a bummer, but my spam filter usually catches them these days.
for some reason I assumed that this forum was like criterion forum phase 2 when I signed up for this one because I originally signed up for that and hadn’t heard of the auteurs until just this year. I guess I assumed there couldn’t have been more than one forum affiliated with it.
I wonder if it’s worth venturing over there or not. Though I probably won’t, ‘cause I’m comfy here with my ability to mess around with my own profile and rate films and all that good stuff.
I would
probly Clint Eastwood ;)
nah, i’d take Clint, but not Chuck Norris.
I just have to clear up something and point out that the spam messages are coming from criterionforum.COM, NOT criterionforum.ORG. criterionforum.com was run by criteriondvd.com, which by all appearance has gone belly up. The forum admin disappeared and the volunteer mods at the site had no way of stopping the spam accounts that would sign up. These spam accounts are the ones sending out the spam PMs. Once the forum members and mods at that site realized they had no control over it they abandoned the forum and started a new one. Unfortunately the site is still running and still being overrun by spam bots.
Werner Herzog or Michael Bay?

I think it would be more of a slap fight, really. I reckon we could talk them to death maybe, right? They’re very organized over there, though. They might come up with some sort of method of attack or defense or something.
