Why does Netflix not have L'Enfance Nue?

It still says DVD availability date unknown. I’m this close to blind buying it.

um, it releases today.

give them 24 hours.

relax.

Yes, but it will usually specify on their website that the DVD will be released on such and such date long before the release date of the DVD.

I’ve found that to not always be the case. Rest assured if Criterion releases something (and it’s not already available on DVD, and sometimes if it is) Netflix will carry it.

If you need something to do, contribute to my new thread.

True, with the exception of Fat Girl, for which there isn’t even a profile on their site. The DVD is still in print. Anyhow, I don’t mean to start a heated discussion, but that example simply came to mind.

Fat Girl has a profile, but is listed as unavailable (see for yourself, google “fat girl breillat netflix”) but I did rent Fat Girl when it came out.

I think sometimes (very very rarely) some distribution issue interferes with netflix. not sure if this is the case with fat girl though.

and as an aside, few things crack me up like Netflix reviews. Here’s a typical review (in it’s original) of Fat Girl:

“shame on me for not noticing the graphic content warning. I love foreign films and though not a prude I find p_b_c hair and frontal p_nis view unnessary. I deal with them however. I was totally unprepared for a man with an erect p_nis putting on a condom in a film less than a x rating. the ending was wierd also. Not the best choice for Mother’s day. ER”

If only I could watch these people watching movies.

Charles DeGaulle/Mastroianni is that you?

Sometimes it takes Netflix quite a while to get new titles in inventory and ready to ship, so they don’t always have dates, especially with smaller production titles such as Criterion.
