Why the Academy Awards are disappointing.

500 Days of Summer really? One of the many disappointing nominees of the last few years.
i am very curious about your thoughts on the oscars. Are they Valid anymore? The general public looks to them as a guide. What is a better alternate guide?

It was not a nominee. At all. Stop cluttering the forum with nonsense. That’s much more disappointing than the Academy.

Although, it deserved Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Original Screenplay noms.

I really loved (500) Days of Summer, but I dont’ think the AA are very good barometer of quality. I do agree that they influence the movies people decide to see, so in that way, they are important. I don’t know any other better alternative—at least one with the same cache and reach.

We have assigned essay topics and I got the academy awards. Fifteen pages on the motherfucking academy awards. My Professor knows me, somewhat. After she assigned it to me she winked and whispered, “you’re welcome”. I was so mad. Now, I am doing an compare contrast essay because I want her to know that these awards are worthless. I have 14 pages done and I needed some more ideas.

I am shit out of luck. Yeah I don’t think it was nominated. It was nominated for some bull shit award. It was not a bad movie, but I felt it was an examples of, yet another, unworthy film. nvm.
