Well, all of Africa´s matches had a low participation so far. Most of the films Blue K selected are unknown to the viewers, and one must admit that the whole continent´s cinematic output gets somehow ignored by regular cinephiles. I hope that there are going to be more people who will start watching African films in the next round, but it´s still a long way until Criterion takes the continent´s cinema seriously.

just joking of course but i believe that Team Africa has struck a cord towards many cine-viewers,be it a minor participation or not,all of its matches had a razor-edge of voting and cheering and it’s interesting to see that Blue K chose to manage two equally neglected world areas,and one of them managed to reach so high in that cinematic ordeal!
that doesn’t mean it’s tough luck or a respect to an unknown continent,on the contrary……i feel it IS a step for people to get to know this continent,even with many countries merged as One…
i do vote f course for many oldies but until availability comes in handy (damn you Karagarga),i won’t even mind if only 2000’s films appear in Blue K’s next line-up…
Oh the films here were pretty unfamiliar, i wasn’t expecting a big turnout even for the knockout stage match, and a few votes may have been lost cos of the weekend too. But at least all the pairings were voted on, we avoided anything awkward.
Sorry that Moolaade didn’t arrive in time for me to see it and vote – even if it wouldn’t have made any difference. Congratulations to Blue K for continuing Africa’s advance – inspite of lower than expected voter turnout and ignorance of African films on this site. We are all learning from and enjoying your excellent picks, so I look forward to more. You beat a very strong team from the Czech Republic – all of whose film picks throughout the event were exceptional. Both of these teams have inspired my own viewing and I will definitely try to get copies of those wonderful Vláčil films – and some of the African ones, too. Thanks both managers for an inspired event that should have had a ton more viewers. Those of us following this thoroughly enjoyed it, anyway.

This is a little late, but I wanted to thank all the voters for participating and Team Czech captain Martin for a great competition. I think my Team Africa got a little lucky, but I will gladly take the opportunity to showcase three more films from the continent of Africa. :)

Apu,i don’t mind criticism but really,i expected something better from people like Mymosh or Rich Uncle Skeleton,there is the private message machine you know dude..
