M. Night Shyamalan’s entire directorial filmography since “The Sixth Sense”.
Ironically many/most of the Oscar Best Picture winners. :P
pinocchio’s revenge.
havoc.
max payne.
vanity fair.
the piano.
on a scale from 1 to 10, the piano is a 10 to the power of infinity.
never heard anyone hate The Piano so much
interesting
Lauryn, what is it exactly that you despise so much about the Piano?
I’m guessing it has something to do with Keitel’s short cummings.
“The Piano” is stunning and breathtaking.
Alright even if you don’t like it, is it THE worst like the thread title says?
Really? THE WORST?
I can relate since I think Frailty is one of the worst films I have seen (I think the ending negates any good will the film had) and that one is well regarded. I would also put Bridesmaids in my bottom 10 and that one is loved at the moment
haha @dennis !
probably because in every film class i have had my professors proclaim it like it is something that MUST be praised and I don’t get it. like why do i HAVE to appreciate this film so much, because it did absolutely nothing for me, and i’m not entirely sure what it was suppost to do.
aha, i don’t mean to offend anyone, but that’s my point exactly and probably why i can’t stand it; it’s like taboo.
I see THE MAN FROM EARTH getting some attention here…for good reason. Terrible film. I’ll add JUNO to the list.
lol @ Juno, that little girl was seriously unrealistic. Never met someone like that.
I agree with Jerry and Alex. I couldn’t stand Juno
BUT it’s not the worst that would have go to Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Still angry now that I stayed in my seat all the way through The Blair Witch Project. If I’d gone out and got mugged that night, at least it would’ve been over more swiftly.
Drive Angry was one of the worst movies that I have seen recently but Tideland takes the cake for just plain awful, yuck!
I thought The Piano and Blair Witch were both great movies, though.
Leprechaun : Back 2 Tha Hood.
A lot of film students hate ‘Citizen Kane’ for similar reasons – they don’t understand why it is so often considered the greatest movie ever made and find it generally unremarkable. I think this is healthy for discussions within film classes – why should we be force-fed a menu of films that a critical hierarchy have decided are master-works worthy of our attention? Having said that, I remain convinced that both ‘Citizen Kane’ and ‘The Piano’ are two great films.
Oh and I’m fairly sure the worst film I’ve ever seen is ‘Fast and Furious’ – I hadn’t seen any of the other films in the franchise, but got dragged along to it by some autophile friends of mine. Despite the loud high-octane action, I fell asleep after about 10 minutes and woke up 5 minutes before the end, while still managing to maintain a fairly firm grip on the plot.
True story.
Nobody’s mentioned The Room? For shame! That movie is a comedy of errors, discontinuity, bad acting, poor pacing, and inane dialogue from beginning to end.
Other stinkers:
Troll 2
A Lot Like Love*
Fool’s Gold*
Havoc
21*
The Other Bolelyn Girl*
Sucker Punch
*Not my fault- I was stuck on an airplane.
Movies I wanted to zap from my memory bank:
A Serbian Film
Catwoman
Funny Games US (I liked the original too)
Last Days
Kurt & Courtney
Attack of the Clones (The worst of the prequels and that is saying something for this abysmal edition of an abysmal trilogy that had Yoda fight with a lightsaber for the first time.)

I’m not sure I can think of anything that could possibly top Les Amours Imaginaires (Heartbeats). It just set a new low in pretentious ways to depict relationship dynamics…
Some films i dislike a lot: Rambo, Rocky, Who Dares Wins, Dark Knight, Life is Beautiful, Passion of the Christ, Braveheart, Mary Poppins, The Queen, Reservoir Dogs, King Kong (Jackson), Amelie, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Slumdog Millionaire, The Bells of St Mary, Kill Bill 1, The Hurt Locker, The Phantom Menace, Carousel, Camelot, Sister Act, Men in Black…
Twilight made me suffer.
Firecracker. I win.
Cookie
I could of gone without seeing Love Ranch…
