Robo-nipples
Lol.
I would assume the x rated has more blood and gore.
It does.
I believe there is a significant amount of gore added to the death of the main character. I’m not sure how many seconds were trimmed but if I remember correctly this was a big part of the rating change. Legs and body being blown to bits and such.
Maybe there’s a Tetsuo the Iron Man type of sex scene?
There’s a lot more violence in Murphy’s death, a fair few more closeups and extended shots of violence. Incidentally, the first version of Robocop I saw was a TV efit, which removed ALL the violence and EVERY SINGLE swear word. It was hilarious and I desperately want a copy…
It’s also got an extended bit of violence in the board room when the ED-209 fills the board member full of lead. The extra few seconds actually take it so far over the top it becomes cartoony, and the censor cut of it actually, counter-productively, deepened the gruesomeness of the violence, making it worse to experience.
I have the 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition. There is the Original Theatrical Release and the Extended Version. I see on the back of the DVD case it says unrated. Is the Extended Version the one you are talking about with more graphic violence in it?
yes
@Erik Villase Nor Thanks for letting me know about the Robocop DVD information.
Erik Villasenor
just want to know the differences in the x-rated version of Robocop and the theatrical
